The Impact
Marian’s story has reached people across the country and has encouraged many to pause and reflect on the choices they make at work. This space is for you to share how hearing her story made you feel and whether it influenced how you think or act when it comes to safety. By sharing your experience, you can help others understand how emotional connection can shape safer behaviour in the workplace.
Marian,
Thank you for your time yesterday. The heartfelt story of your sons passing was a tough listen. I dont think there would be one man or woman who attended the talk who would have left without taking stock of their workplace activities. It is a hard task you have set for yourself, but certainly a worthy one.
Best of luck to you and your family.
It was a pleasure to be in a room full of people who care about the health and safety for everyone. Lorcan will be remembered and my thoughts and respect goes to the Deasy family for being able to raise the awareness for Lorcan Deasy. The message was very clear on the day and it will always stay clear. No person should ever leave the house and not be able to return home to their family as they left it. Lorcans workplace accident has affected us all as we all thrive to work safely and get home safely. Thank you to Electric Skyline for raising the awareness and organising the day. CField Construction will carry on and raise the Live for Lorcan awareness so everyone understands the importance of working safely to get home to a family at the end of the day.
H&MV has arranged for Marian to attend numerous site locations to share her personal story with our workforce. The impact of these sessions has been exceptional and serves as a powerful reminder of why safety must always remain our number one priority. Marian’s story has made a profound difference in strengthening behavioural safety across H&MV. Delivered from a deeply personal and relatable perspective, it encourages operatives to paus, reflect, and truly consider the consequences of their actions and decisions on site. Importantly, it highlights that these choices do not only affect the individual but have lasting implications for families and loved ones as well. This initiative has played a significant role in reinforcing a strong safety culture within the organisation, helping the embed personal responsibility and mindful decision-making.
